Inflation Control In The Regions

The President conveyed directions to all Governors and Regents/Mayors throughout Indonesia in the context of the Coordination Meeting to Discuss Inflation Control in the Regions.

He emphasized the handling of people affected by the fuel price adjustment in the past. Assistance to the community can be in the form of the availability of raw materials, for UMKM businesses, the cost of the difference in the increase in public transportation tariffs, the availability of food in the local market through direct purchase transportation assistance to the producer's location, so that the increase in food prices in the local market can be controlled.

The increase in food prices including eggs, shallots, and chilies must be controlled because they contribute to inflation by 74 percent (%) and the most important is rice. Therefore, the President emphasized that all Regional Heads must work in more detail to monitor and handle food prices, especially rice if the price creeps up.

In addition, the handling of the affected community can be done through social assistance. The sources of financing for the activities mentioned above are already available in their respective regions, as well as the legal umbrella from the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Home Affairs.

 Of particular concern to the President are regional heads in provinces and regencies/cities whose inflation rate exceeds the national inflation rate. (the said areas can be seen for information on the bps.go.id page, the Official Statistics menu, select the subject of Inflation)

This directive from the President is carried out in streaming which is relayed using the Zoom application, which will be held on Monday, 12 September 2022, starting at 13.00 WIB, in the Lamongan Regency Government Command Center room, 3rd floor. BPS is present at the invitation of the Lamongan Regency Government.
